Recently, SONY's Playstation Gaming Network had been hacked into causing multiple problems for consumers and on-line gamers. After being taken offline since April 20, SONY restored its popular PlayStation network amid continued questions of user privacy and security.

Sony talks about the whole Idenity theft. Also they are explaining how the customers should react to the situation. It cost a billion dollars to fix the probelm! Also they talk about how to restore the companys name. They have to take more measures to make sure credit card numbers dont get exposed.
ReplyDeleteIf i was a customer i would be pissed. Also if my credit card number got stolen (aka my moms). My friends are also mad becuase they had to wait for like 50 days becuase the sony team needed to reboot and stuff. Since this accident happend XBOX 360 is definetly in the lead. XBOX 360 also has way better games!

This video talks about how many playstation players can now get back online. You have to do a new software update to prevent the idenity theft situation. It also talks about how if the recent situation hurts sony and they could have lost some people to xbox. I think the most important point of the video is the new software update. We dont know if this will help prevnt this from happening again we can only wait to see.
ReplyDeleteI dont think users should be scared that it will happen again. I think they smart enough to find a way to prevent it. Yes we will always have that concern but im a ps3 user and im not really concerend about it happening again.Sony will overcome this and thier fear of losing useres to xbox will only erge them more to help prevent the problem.

The biggest main point of the video was that the Ps3 system got there Network back up. It’s been down for a very long time. Another big point in the video was that the ps3 network in Japan was not yet back up. That could hurt there business in a big way by losing there consumers in Japan. Since ps3 has been down many people have given away there game systems and switched to Xbox. Questions are going around about if ps3 is even safe to use again, since it has been hacked. Ps3 has a new security system for users and there accounts. That could kind of give people back the trust in the system and it might not. The biggest point to me was getting people to trust in playing ps3 systems again.
ReplyDeletePeople are really concerned about playing on the ps3 again. I’m really just happy that the network is back on. I say that because I wasn’t hacked, but ii think that I will pay more attention to what is going on. Some of my friends have ps3 and some have Xbox. my friends argue that ps3 is still the best system out and some argue that Xbox has never been hacked and people should switch systems. I have always played Sony play stations, so I do think that they can overcome the odds. I think that it will take time for people to overlook what happened and start playing the ps3 more and buying it still, instead of switching their systems.

Sony Corporation is a huge company that that sells electronics. Currently their business was in jeopardy because of the whole identity theft and people hacking into their PS3 systems. In the video, the main points that they talked about was the identity theft, people's different reactions about this situation, and the customers.

I wouldn't want to hear that someone can hack into my PS3 system and take all of my information. I think that other customers are really mad about this. They probably sent their systems back to the stores.

Sony has been hacked and is hoping to get things up and running again. They have issued a software upgrade for Sony products. Ambiguous speed bumps are in the way of Sony success as of right now. Costs are very high and expense could become an effect on the sales numbers against competing systems. The main problem Sony will face is whether they can keep loyal customers to their products and services. The government needs to take a lot more precautions online and help make a better security for users.
ReplyDeleteTo make matters worse, Sony has many competing companies in the area of business today. That being said, it doesn't matter much to me what happens to Sony and how they will cope after such a devastating crisis. I wish them the best and feel strongly they will keep their customers begging for more. I know of two friends I have that use play station 3s and they have been very satisfied with Sony’s efforts in the past. This has essentially been very devastating for them and will continue to be loyal consumers of Sony products in the future. I think Sony will overcome this with a better security system and seeing as how guaranteed customers have been in the past, there is no way they will go too far downhill.

In this video sony is talking about the hacking of the network. They were also saying how ps3 is trying to restart the network. When you first logged into playstation you had to change your password. They also have to restore their image as a brand. Their leading competitor microsoft has had hacking problems but never this serious.
ReplyDeleteThe consumers opinion is that the ps3 customers are stuck with their system right now. PS3 should have a reward system in place for users of ps3. The xbox 360 is better, they also have better games. I don't think Sony can overcome this problem. It's hard to get recover from. My friends think this sucks and they don't like the ps3 as of now. If i was playstation i would just give away games and points to use at the playstation store.

This video is about how the Playstation Network has been down and is now back up. The network being down has cost Sony 1 billion dollars. People have been very upset about this happening. Sony has now fixed they problem and hopefully made it so it doesnt happen again.
ReplyDeleteI am a user of the Playstation Network and the network being down hasn't affected me that much. Many people i know were very upset about it. A lot of people were saying they were gonna buy xbox 360's. Nobody i know actually did though. Sony will still have no problem overcoming this as it is all water under the bridge now. If it does happen again then people will probably leave the PS3.

This article talks about sonys recent situation with identity theft. They say that many people can start playing games online again but they have to do a software update to protect the players. Even though the online gaming is back in the US it is still down in japan which can hurt the company in the long haul more than originally thought. Another point is that sony may have lost costumers who have turned to Microsoft and their gaming system, which seems to be more reliable. The biggest point is that sony is trying to come up with a way to protect the players who use their product.

Many people argue that ps3 is better and will always be but on the otherside of that argument now is that xbox is more reliable and has never gotten hacked. Playstation has always been one of the biggest competitors in the market but this has set them back quite a ways and now they have to seek a solution and maybe even regain some costumers that they may have lost due to this. I think that sony can overcome this because after all they are one of the best marketers of their products. Sony just has to show their consumers that they are reliable and they can compete.
The video explain the whole Sony issue where people are hacking into the system causing problems for the users. Sony had to shut down the whole system for 30 minutes because everyone was changing their passwords. This upset many customers and in Japan the system is still down. Sony’s network includes all playstations threes and all playstation portables. With all the issues playstation faces many consumers are considered switching to the Xbox so they have to keep up their popularity. The biggest issue is being able to keep hacker out and have a more secure system.

Most people still like playstation and will stay loyal because of what they offer over the competitor Xbox. Playstation will have to spend more time and money on advertising to influence people to stay or come to playstation because of the heat their under right now. I personally think Sony can overcome the issue their facing right now because they can advanced engineers and researchers so in time playstation will be back on track.

The main point of the video is telling how the network for the ps3 has crashed and they are telling how it happened and what they did to restore it reboot it you can say. Another thing is they were talking about is what they do to make sure it won’t happen again. They have secured it to the max, so no one can break into it or hack it.
ReplyDeletePeople around the world were mad that happened especially my friends, because they couldn’t play against people they wanted to, plus the hackers could of stole money because you paid with a credit card. Sony is still a good company just because this happen that doesn’t mean it will happen again, but it can. Sony will get over this situation, they just have to make sure they have it secured.

ReplyDeleteThe Playstation Network has been down since April 20th. It was hacked by a group of people that obviously knew a lot about the whole computer software and system. It has caused a lot of controversy between the PSN users and the Sony Playstation developers. The users are nervous because they aren’t sure if their credit card information has been stolen and used or if it has been recovered into safe hands. The developers are nervous about their competition. They believe that Xbox 360 will begin to take their followers and will lead to a decline in Sony gaming sales.
ReplyDeleteThe most important issue for SONY to overcome is the fact that peoples credit card information was taken. Lawsuits will arise when people start to find out they have been subject to credit card fraud and its all because of SONY’s failure to secure the online network.
My brother is a faithful Playstation gamer and on the other hand I’m faithful to Microsoft’s Xbox 360. My brother was bummed out by the fact that the network was down for so long. On the other hand I was perfectly fine because Xbox 360 was still working great.

The Sony network for gaming systems was shut down for a while due to the hacking, and privacy of accounts. It was recently turned back on and so many people were changing there passwords like directed that they had to put it on pause. This could have affected the company in the long run but they will have to wait and see the numbers. Sony is a very big company, with very big revenue so they can handle this easily. The bigger question is will they be able to restore there reputation against big competitors like XBOX.
ReplyDeleteConsumers were upset that they shut down the network but it was very needed. Also, people are saying that Sony is handling the situation in a good way so far. My friends were very excited that they rebooted the system and could play Call of Duty again. I think Sony can overcome this with time and patience.
