Red Bull plans lifestyle magazine

Red Bull, the energy drink that changed the way many folks consume beverages, now wants to be a player in how people consume media.
Today, the brand with the high-caffeine kick, will announce plans to publish in the U.S. a glossy, lifestyle magazine, The Red Bulletin. The June issue will launch later this week.
The magazine — and concurrent iPad app — are targeted at the very same 18- to 34-year-olds who thrive on sipping from Red Bull's thin, iconic cans that fetch about $2 a pop.
Outside the U.S., The Red Bulletin already is published in nine countries, including Great Britain, Ireland and Germany.

Red Bull is making a move in the product industry. Red Bull has decide not to just make the drink but now a magzine. The magzine has key important facts with the red bull industry and also the red bull sponsors. One of the top red bull sponosors is Travis Pastrami. Also Reb Bull just wants to be the best so you have to make big moves!
ReplyDeleteThe best promotin is the drink itself by Tin Lincecum. He is a marketable athlete and he is also a current world series champ so he is living good. Also he is one of the top 5 pitchers in the nation. Other advertisers should be Monster, Nike, and many other cool companies. If Nike and red bull joined that would be a sick combo! And the demographics would be from 18-75 becuase everybody like Nike.

Red Bull is coming out with a new magazine to be issued, they want to "have rich conversation with their audience". The magazine is being sold at $4.99 and subscription for $12 for 12 issues. The magazines are promoted towards 18-34 year-olds in newspapers. Each point is pretty interesting to me; I'm surprised Red Bull has become so popular. I don't think that the individuals in their 20's to early 30's want to be attacked from the marketers of this product.
ReplyDeleteI feel this product is way too expensive for something that really isn't healthy for consumption. For this product to acquire its own magazine with subsets of Red Bull sponsors it beyond me. I think the whole idea of putting Red Bull out there through association magazines is not a good idea. It's overpriced and unhealthy; the combination of the two is revolting. It should not be brought up in conversation between the appointed demographic. If the marketers of the Red Bull product really want to attract some attention they could make agreements with advertisers such as Nike, champion, and dick's sporting goods. These could go hand in hand with what the consumer may be looking for.
Red Bull, an energy drink company, wishes to change the game in multi-media by adding a style magazine to its repertoire. Its aim is to become the first company that goes from pop must-have to the pop must-see / must-hear / must watch, by starting with the magazine. They have 75,000 copies in circulation right now, and at the third sunday of the month, the magazine will be added to 5 major newspapers: Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, The Miami Herald and The Houston Chronicle.
ReplyDeleteI like them. the companies chosen are good, except for vacuums. The 18-34 year old demographic aimed at by this demographic I feel won't pay much attention to this company. EA sports would be matched greatly with a another gaming company, namely Bungie or Rockstar. They couldt also put in endorsements from clothing companies and sports teams.
The first big main point of the article was that they are coming with a magazine. Another big main point in the article is that red bull has the pitcher from the san Francisco giants Tim lincecum is on the cover of the magazine. The red bull company has already shipped out magazines to 9 other countries. I think that biggest main point of the article is that Tim lincecum is on the cover of the magazine. This could really boost their ratings and sells for having a known professional player on the cover.

The best magazine that I think is out is sports illustrated, because everybody likes sports. People like to see all the highlights of the week or the types of thing s that goes on in the sports world. I think that Nike, Monster, and Even Dicks sporting goods could be in the mix. Everybody loves to wear Nike appearal.

This article talks about how the brand-Red Bull, are also the publishers of a new magazine called The Red Bulletin. They are targeting 18-34 year olds with this magazine and hope to promote their product even more. Some believe that they are targeting the wrong people, because so they really think 18-34 year olds would buy this? Its first issue came out in over 9 countries and it hopes to increase numbers shortly. Most important is whether the magazine would actually appeal to the selected demographics of the company. If they don’t buy it, then they have made the wrong product.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that they are being creative with the name of the magazine. When people look at it, they can easily identify that it is a Red Bull magazine. It seems like people are more appealed to what they recognize and so they will read the magazine. Other advertisers that maybe a good match would be Adidas, ESPN, and the NHL. Older people are fonder of these networks and so it would increase their desire to read The Red Bulletin. It would increase the age range a bit appealing to more people.

ReplyDeleteI think a lot of other brands should advertise in this magazine. Red Bull is very popluar with extreme sport atheletes. Nike SB, Burton, and Fox should all advertise in the magazine. I think it was smart for the magazine to already come pout in 9 different countries. this gives Red Bull an idea of how succesful it will be and if they should bring it to the US.

LA, Miamai, Chicago are all some of the biggest economic markets in the country. on the other hand it could backfire due to alot of people feel red bull is bad for you and should not be promoted.
ReplyDeleteMe personaly i dont like the whole red bull having thier own magazine. Its not a real healthy everyday drink that people should have. Its a hot name and they advertise it good with thier slogan "Red bull giuves you wings". I think 17-25 is a good range. Alot of teens or young adults like to drink it.

Red Bull is a very popular energy drink and is marketed towards 18-34 year olds. now they are coming out with a magaizine to market to the same audience. red bull is marketed through sports, tv and many other sources and now the red bulliten will be advertising their product as well as introducing people and things associated with red bull. this will keep enthusiest of red bull entertained and wanting more.

People are now saying Red Bull changed they way we consume beverages. Red Bull is now taking things to the next level, now they have created their own magazine. They have even created an Apple app on the app store. The most interesting main point is by far the fact that Red Bull has created a magazine. It’s interesting that a company who makes beverages would all of a sudden decide to start making a magazine.

I personally don’t like Red Bull and I know it isn’t safe for your body/heart but people still drink it. For the people that do drink Red Bull, I’m sure they will be attracted to the magazine just for the simple fact of them being a consumer of the Red Bull beverages. Other than EA Sports, Dyson vacuum, and Zappos, I think 3 other advertisers that would be a good match would be BMX, Reebok and Activision.

The RedBull company has already shipped out magazines to 9 other countries. I think the concept is pretty boring and unappealing. They are targeting young adults to people towards their 30's. Tim Lincecum was on the cover of the first one.
ReplyDeleteRedBull is very popular in the sports industry. I think just about every company that's sports related should advertise in the RedBull magazine. The more places the magazine releases then the more money they are able to make. They should become successful.
