Global Marketing Blog Assignment # 3 (25 points)

Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi is the world's largest indoor theme park and marks a large investment in future tourism for the area.

But the major attraction is Formula Rossa, the world's fastest rollercoaster.

In a 2 paragraph response (a minimum of 5 sentences for each paragraph), answer the following questions.  The video talks about Ferrari's investment goal being to increase tourism to the area.  In paragraph #1, discuss Ferrari's investment and the risk that the company takes by investing so much money into a theme park. Discuss your personal feelings on this investment idea.  Do you think it's a good or bad risk?  Why?  Be specific with your thoughts.

  1. Ferrari has built a full theme park called Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi which is the world's largest indoor theme park and marks a large investment in future tourism for the area. Ferrari has spent a lot of money into building this large tourist attraction. There investment seems well spent just because of the surplus of land to build in the desert region. There are plenty of risk’s involved with there investment but Ferrari has seemed to be a stable company because of there larger influence in racing and social life and economically are fine. This investment idea seems like a good risk because not many exotic car brands or companies have done the same like Ferrari. It’s something new which could attract potential clients and led to new opportunities.
    A global marketing technique I would use to promote tourism to Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi is to have special promotions to come to Ferrari like half price flights if they book a week in Abu Dhabi. I would partner with local airlines and try to get the masses to come. Another strategy I would use direct to theme parker goes is to make the major attraction is Formula Rossa, the world's fastest rollercoaster more appealing. I would heavily market this rollercoaster making theme park goers wanting to come especially those thrill seekers. Another strategy would be to heavily promote the Ferrari shops and everything it has to offer. Get people who love to shop to get them to come to Ferrari world and buy in the shops giving them discounts during the week at every store.

  2. Ferrari built this theme park named Ferrari world. The park is in Abu Dhabi. they built it there becuase there was a lot open space. They needed space becuase it is the biggest indoor theme park. It helps alot with tourist business. It brings people in and they spend money when they come. Its something new which could attract potential clients and led to new opportunities.

    I feel that this is a great idea. they will make alot of money at this theme park. People will travel all that way for it they have a great message. They have to work hard to get the people to come. They must have good ads as well as reviews from people that go to see it all. Ferrari makes there cars to go fast and people like that and thats why they would travel to see the theme park also the cars they have on show at the time.

  3. The ferrari company has risked by investing all this money to the largest theme park,in this is the largest rollercoaster they are trying to attract tourism people and even people in the area. This brings lots of risks because theme parks re not open all year around, and this may cause lost in lots of money.But it could also bring lots of tourism people because lots of young teens enjoy roller coasters.It could go either or way,but it will take some time, in which I think they will be successful.
    My global marketing strategy would be to advertise this more during the summer time of the north hemisphere to which the target market would be young teens to young adults because those are the people who enjoy these type of adventures. Also work with other people in the industry such as other theme parks like disney word or six flags to help them promote, even though this will cost lots of money. when tourism people and park goers come, give them coupons or goodie bags filled with stuff so they could remember and always come back to visit.

  4. Ferrari has a huge risk in investing that much money in a theme park because its half way across the world. Not too many people are going to go to Dubai to go to a theme park. Access to this theme park is the major risk. Even thought I understand the move to Dubai o don’t think it will get the type of revenue it needs to sustain the cost of maintaining the park. I don’t think it was a good move at all. It might work for the short time but for long time isn’t going to lose its luster in Dubai since Dubai isn’t a highly populated area anyway. I think it’s a bad risk overall. I don’t see how they can with stand the cost of such a big park.

    I would have to have a huge advertisement plan globally. Hopefully to attract people like Disney World does. I would give out discounts in hope top attract people who normally wouldn’t be able to pay off the full price ticket. I would throw concerts to help bring more people to the theme park. Even have free give a ways in hopes that people would want to win something.

This Idea of investing a lot of money in a theme park is a pretty good idea to me because is an opportunity for people to experience what it feels like to be in a race car, and its also good for the company because they can make a lot of money out of this since is becoming on of the largest investment in future tourism for the area.

    One good idea that they should do to get more people to come to their theme park is to not only have the fastest rollercoaster in the world, but also have like a slower rollercoaster for people that don’t like fast rollercoaster’s. Another idea is to have like a rollercoaster for kids because I think that this rollercoaster is only for adults, and the little kids also want to have some fun. Also they should have not only one or two rollercoaster they should make more for the whole family to enjoy.

  6. I think Ferrari did a good job in investing in a theme park at Abu Dhabi. It is a good risk, because everyone enjoys going to a theme park with their fanily and friends. Ferrari is already beating the competiton, because they have the largest indoor theme park in the world. This is already an investment, that i see going really far and will be successful.

    My global strategy would be to advertise the theme park, in all parks of the world. I have never heard of this park, if i never got the chance to do this blog, i may have never seen it. So advertising would be very good and effective for this theme park. Also the park can be promoted by the radio and be sending coupons in the mail, to differnt address all over the world.

  7. I think that they did a good job of investing in this theme park because it will increase tourism in that country and it will help out there economy. Also this will help the people of that country because it will let the tourists go to their shops and buy their merchandise. I also think that it is a good risk because alot of people in the world today like to take risks and have a good time, and with this rollar coaster they will want to go there and ride it.


    I would make a package deal for a hotel room, airplane costs, cars costs, so that when people buy it and go there they will have everything ready for them. Also i would make commercials in countries that have a good population that is not under the poverty line. I think that this wil work and it will help the country and the company and the people will enjoy the park too.

  8. Ferrari has built a theme park witch boastes the fastest roller coaster in the world. Ferrari has done something no other car company has done, it has created a place in which it can generate revenue and market Ferrari in the Middle East. I think that this is a very good move because now Ferrari isnt just a car but its a brand which has proven that it can manufacture other products as well. For recogintional purposes i think that they should hire a celeberty to endorse the product ohh say Lebron James or Dale earnheart jr. scence he loves racing. They should also run more commercials not just in the Middle East but the entire world.

    I commend Ferrari for seeing the future and wanting to be more then just a car. I strongly believe that they will be successful in their stride to be a brand equivelent to more then just a car maker. I also believe that they will be more successful if they lower their prices and try to make Ferrari a car that almost anybody with a job can afford.

  9. Ferrari took a huge risk by making the theme park. With them setting the stage in Dhabi they weren’t sure what to expect from the area. Making the park took an extreme amount of money and that made the idea even more of a risk. I feel that before making a decision like that including as much money was they used, they should first do several years of research on the area that will be involved with the park.

    My global marketing strategy would go from having free trips to the park to contestant winners. I would make sure I had commercials on T.V. all the time hopefully during primetime television. That would bring more people to the park and I would even try things like summer discounts where for every pair of people that come, its buy one get one half off. Or maybe I would use buy two get one free.

    Let's admit , Ferrari in general are fast and very popular in any country. So that gives the people a connection to visit the park.

    The company have invested millions of dollars into a ride, meaning they are focusing more on the park then finding a way to bring guest to the theme park.
    Promotional ideas i would recommend would be commercials on televisions ,special discount coupons , and any other advertising technique. I would make a package deal for a hotel room, airplane costs, cars costs, so that when people buy it and go there they will have everything ready for them.

    They need to use their Marketing skills to impress the visitors if they want to be known to have a large variety of tourist to travel to their park just to ride the famous rollercoaster.
